Kirinyaga county sits in the foothills. It also means “crest of whiteness” which accurately describes this areas surprisingly, snow capped peaks. No, this coffee is not from a single farmer, rather it is made up of coffees from Mwirua, Rung-eto, Rwama, & thirikwa co-ops among others. Even so, the coffee is meticulously inspected every step of the way. We often find overlooked regional blends that, when cupped blindly, demolish other coffees of greater “pedigree” on the table. This is NOT the Kaibu, this is Kirinyaga AA. Much different but still pallet whetting, deep, spicy, & full of dark fruit & red wine-like body. It’s a luxurious comforting winter coffee.
