Valle de Cauca, Trujillo...
Granja La Esperanza was run by, at the time, the very young Rigoberto & Luis Herrera brothers who had been working on the Postosi farm since they were just children. They were 2 out of 14 kids from the large Herrera family who showed an affinity & an outstanding intuitive skill for growing & processing coffee.
In the year 2007 Don Rigoberto had the chance to lease and manage a coffee farm in the region of Boquete in Panama, called “La Carleida”, and a year later obtained first place in the “Best coffee of Panama”, organized by the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama. At this point he decided to bring some of the Geisha seeds to Colombia, starting a new era in the history of Granja La Esperanza.
This coffee marks the first direct trade we have had with the Herrera bros.
We worked with our partners at RGC to get it all the way to Montreal & are really excited about how well processed and sorted this really funky natural is.
It's tangy, it's lactic, it's sweet. It's unreal.
