Mate is a neighbour to folks like Basha Bekele up in Bensa...high in the mountains. Not entirely sure why we never heard of him despite buying from Bensa and communicating with many people about the smaller, less talked about producers, trying to find more folks who were looking for buyers...then all of a sudden Mate comes out and produces some CRAZY lots, at least ONE with the help of Christopher Feran. He won 2nd place last year at Cup Of Excellence & we kept a special lot for y'all just so you could live this amazing year of production too. 

Since last year we've heard some crazy stuff regarding Mate. Whatever the case may be, we very much hope we can have dialogue with Mate again & find a way to buy some coffees from him & share them with all of you. Don't hesitate to try this coffee. There's not much & who knows when we'll find more.
